07.03.2024 Save the date! Our team is waiting for you at the European Hydrogen Energy Conference

The next edition of the European Hydrogen Energy Conference (EHEC 2024), organized by AeH2, will take place in Bilbao.

EHEC has established itself as a leading conference in the hydrogen sector, being held every two years for almost two decades. The previous edition, held in Madrid in 2022, attracted more than 1100 attendees from 40 countries. With more than 200 speakers, 36 parallel sessions and more than 50 exhibitors over three days, it provided a comprehensive platform for knowledge exchange and lead generation.

One of the parallel sessions organized here is promoted by the eGHOST project. Discover the Symposium we have organized with the following speakers and topics:

15:30 – 15:45 WELCOME AND PRESENTATION OF eGHOST PROJECT
Javier Dufour, IMDEA Energy (Spain)

15:45 – 16:15 ECO-DESIGN METHODOLOGY
Javier Dufour, IMDEA Energy (Spain)

Professor at Rey Juan Carlos University. Research Professor and Head of the Systems Analysis Unit of IMDEA Energy Institute (Spain). Currently, he is Deputy Leader of the Cross-Cutting Activities Technical Committee of Hydrogen Europe Research. Formerly, he was Operating Agent of Task 36 Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (2014-2017) for the Hydrogen TCP of the International Energy Agency. Coordinator of several projects focused in the sustainability and circularity of hydrogen systems. Other research interests are focused on process optimization, eco-design and energy planning of energy systems.

16:15 – 16:30 REFERENCE CASE: PEMFC
Jade Garcia, Symbio (France) and Mitja Mori, University of Ljubljana (Slovenia)

> Jade holds a Degree in Engineering from Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers and a Master’s Degree in eco-design and environmental management. She worked for 15 years in eco-design and Life Cycle Assessment, helping industrials to improve, simplify and harmonized their practices. Since January 2023, she is in charge of environmental activities for the product in Symbio, including LCA, carbon footprint, collaborative projects and training.

> Associate Prof. Dr. Mitja Mori is a member of the Department of Energy Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ljubljana. He is a leading expert in LCA in Slovenia and cooperates with industry, international projects and the government. His research areas are closely related to LCA, carbon footprint, hydrogen economy, eco-design and problems arising from today’s energy conversion systems. He is a leader in the field of sustainable development (LCA, S- LCA) and techno-economic analysis (TEA) in several H2020 funded projects.

16:30 – 16:45 ASSESSMENT OF PEMFC UNDER ECO-DESIGN DIRECTIVE
Diego Iribarren, IMDEA Energy (Spain)

Senior researcher in the Systems Analysis Unit of IMDEA Energy. He mainly works on sustainability assessment of energy systems from a combined technoeconomic, environmental and social perspective. In particular, he is an expert on life cycle sustainability assessment of hydrogen-related systems. He participates in a large number of research projects as principal investigator or work-package leader.

16:45 – 17:00 REFERENCE CASE: SOEC
Diego Iribarren, IMDEA Energy (Spain) and Pierre Rigault, The French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission, (France)

> Pierre Rigault is a Sustainability Engineer at CEA Liten; his main activities are dedicated to environmental evaluation of energetic systems, especially hydrogen technologies. Pierre graduated in 2015 at Grenoble Institute of Technology as Industrial and environmental engineer. Before joining the CEA, he has participated in several European projects, leading LCA, techno-economic evaluations and eco-design activities related to innovative technologies in various sectors (energy, waste and water treatments, materials).
